Fieldwork — seven Earth and nature simulations you can run in a browser

Each simulation puts you in a role, hands you the parameters a specialist actually argues about, and runs the consequences at the speed the system really works at. The models are simplified, real, and documented: every one names its model class, cites its sources, and says in plain language what it cannot do.

• Meander & Delta (500 years) — Five centuries of a river deciding where to be. You are the river-basin engineer.
• Groundwater (30 years) — Thirty years of a basin you cannot see into. You are the basin water manager.
• Ice & Coast (1900–2300) — Four centuries in one sitting: a glacier, and the coast it drowns. You are the glaciologist / coastal planner.
• Beekeeper (1–3 years) — Three years, eight hives, and a mite that doubles every three weeks. You are the beekeeper.
• Vintage (one season) — One season. Frost in April, mildew in July, rain at harvest. You are the vineyard manager / winemaker.
• Observatory (6–12 months) — The mountain will not tell you. The instruments only hint. You are the duty scientist.
• Soaring (one afternoon, in real time) — One afternoon, no engine, and an atmosphere that is not on your side. You are the glider pilot.
